Augustine of Hippo, said that Sin is a “word, deed, thought, or desire in opposition to the eternal Law of God.”

Repent

View, feel or think of committed sin with deep remorse or regret.  Repentance is the activity of reviewing one’s action and feeling regret over one’s past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to change for the better.  In modern times, it is generally seen as involving a commitment to personal change and the resolve to live a more responsible and humane life.
